COMMUNITY SERVICES
Pelmorex has a huge expertise in meteorology and as Canada's premier provider of meteorological services; we are the name that Canadians turn to first. Our meteorology centres are based in Mississauga and Montreal, where our team of experienced and professional meteorologists generate tailored forecasts for clients across Canada, 24 hours a day.

We have the expertise and resources to create community specific forecasts, available via a dedicated web site*. Forecasts include hourly resolution of important weather elements for 24 hours, with an outlook for the rest of the week. Also available is satellite and radar imagery, together with the near real-time data from the weather stations in your community.

Our services to individual communities include:
>  Accurate, real time measurements of the weather in the community, through at least one dedicated automatic weather station
> Community specific weather forecasting services

There are many benefits to having forecasts tailored to your community and numerous uses the information can be put to. A few examples are:

Community organizations could use the forecast to plan for adverse weather conditions i.e. school buses starting their morning run earlier when snow has been forecast; community buildings switching their heating on in advance of a cold snap; advance planning for outdoor community events - will it rain for the parade?

Commercial businesses within the community would benefit from a Community Weather Service as well. For example the local marina may have requirements for accurate forecasts and real-time weather data, as might other sports clubs, resorts, parks and hotels. Informing skiers in advance of new snow falls; hotels being able to tell guests of the next day's weather so they can plan their activities; parks could use the forecasts to anticipate weekend public demand.

Local schools benefit from Community Weather Services, as the raw data from the Community Weather Station can be used in science projects and as a teaching tool. For example, track how the weather changed during the passage of a frontal system; how do evaporation rates change depending on weather conditions; analysis of temperature changes between locations.
