Community organizations could use the forecast to plan for adverse weather conditions i.e. school buses starting their morning run earlier when snow has been forecast; community buildings switching their heating on in advance of a cold snap; advance planning for outdoor community events - will it rain for the parade?

Commercial businesses within the community would benefit from a Community Weather Service as well. For example the local marina may have requirements for accurate forecasts and real-time weather data, as might other sports clubs, resorts, parks and hotels. Informing skiers in advance of new snow falls; hotels being able to tell guests of the next day's weather so they can plan their activities; parks could use the forecasts to anticipate weekend public demand.

Local schools benefit from Community Weather Services, as the raw data from the Community Weather Station can be used in science projects and as a teaching tool. For example, track how the weather changed during the passage of a frontal system; how do evaporation rates change depending on weather conditions; analysis of temperature changes between locations.
